Wasabi doesn't charge for egress or API requests, under a fair-use policy: if the data you download each month stays at or below the amount you store, there are no extra charges. Typical backup and archive use fits well within this.
Is there a minimum storage duration?
Yes. On the standard pay-as-you-go plan, Wasabi bills deleted data for a minimum storage period of 90 days, which makes it best suited to backups and archives rather than short-lived files. We design retention policies with this in mind.
Where is our data stored?
You choose the Wasabi storage region when we set up your account, and your data stays in that region. For businesses in India, the nearest options are Wasabi's Asia-Pacific regions, such as Singapore.
Can Wasabi protect our backups from ransomware?
Yes. With Object Lock enabled, backup data cannot be changed or deleted until its retention period ends — even by an attacker who gains access to your backup system.
Do you manage the backups, or just the storage?
Both. We can configure and monitor your backup jobs, run periodic restore tests, and report on storage usage — or just set up the storage if your team manages backups itself.
